from 7 reviewsMy 8 year old son enjoyed this journal! It is very well put together and has been a safe space for him to explore his feelings amongst some difficult losses this past year. He is very creative and enjoyed the coloring and prompts! It also opened up room for us to have open conversations about his feelings and emotions, which I loved having that 1:1 time with him. Highly recommend 🤍
My son is neurodivergent. He gets very overwhelmed easily. I brought this on vacation. As you can imagine, he was tired and had a little meltdown. I had him sit and write on this journal. It truly helped him feel better and made me understand him more. Highly recommend!
As a mom of a seven-year-old and a former therapist, I really love this emotion journal.
One of the first things I noticed was that it doesn’t feel overwhelming. It has pictures, but it’s left open like a coloring book so kids can decorate it and make it their own. There is also space for them to add their own illustrations. The little extras, like the stickers and the sensory candy with guidance on how to use it to help with calming, felt really thoughtful.
What stood out the most, though, was my son’s reaction. He was genuinely excited to have his own journal. He immediately sat down to start decorating it and couldn’t wait to show it off to his older brothers.
What I appreciate most is how many different ways this journal supports kids. It helps them learn about emotions in language they can understand, validates and normalizes their feelings, and gives them tools and ideas for coping. It also includes affirmations and space for kids to explore their thoughts on their own, which is so important at this age.
From both a parent and professional perspective, this is a really great tool for helping kids build emotional awareness, whether you’re using it at home or with the support of a therapist.
I purchased this journal as a tool for talking about emotions with kiddos. Not only has this journal sparked conversation, it has allowed kids to express without words, with plenty of space to color and draw! I love being able to snap a pic and send the work to parents so they can continue having conversation at home.
I have also gifted a journal and the recipient (8yo girl) was so excited to have a place for emotions, all of her own! Wonderful tool & great gift idea to build emotional intelligence.
I’m so impressed with the journal. It’s a great way for kids to get in touch with their feelings. It also incorporates self esteem, goals for future. Really excellent tool for kids to explore emotions in a safe and effective way. I also ordered a unicorn baby onesie….love it!
As a parent, I am thrilled to share my positive experience with this amazing journal! This journal has truly been a game-changer for my son in helping him express themselves more effectively.
The tools provided in this journal have empowered my child to explore his thoughts, feelings, and emotions. The interactive prompts, colorful illustrations, and fun activities have sparked my child's imagination and encouraged them to open up about their inner world.
I highly recommend this!
As a therapist, I was looking for something different to give relatives and friends for kids birthdays and holidays. A therapist friend told me about these journals she started using with her clients and well as her own son. I decided to buy three of these journals as gifts to my niece (age 7), nephew (age 7) and one of my friends kids (age 8) for a birthday gift. Their parents all loved the gift, especially since it wasn't another toy to add the the pile (haha). They said their kids loved working through the journal and it sparked a lot of conversation about emotions and stuff that had never come up before. I will be using these journals as my go-to for any of my friends kids that I need to get a gift for. Also, can't wait until my kids are old enough to use the journal!
